Basketball Festival
Wed 25 Nov 2015We arrived for our Basketball Festival at St Osmunds Middle School where we met our Year 8 sport leaders, who warmed us up before we had a pre-festival talk given by Mr Treble and Mr Sawyer. Then we made our way to our first game against a strong St Mary’s Catholic team and played really well however lost 3-1 with Ruth scoring. After our rest period we played Manor park and this was a close game ending up as a draw 2-2 with Darcy and Clayton scoring for Cerne. Damers were our next opponents and this was a cracker of a game, end to end and the best we had played so far with the game at 5-4 we looked like we could maybe get a draw but Damers scored a couple late on making the final score 7-4, Max, Darcy and Jack with 2 scored ours. Our last game was against our federated school Winterbourne Valley which always gives an extra spice to the match, it looked like it was going to end up as a 2-2 until Ruth scored her second and the desicive basket to win the game 3-2, with Jack scoring the other! We then had the certificate ceremony and thanked the Year 8 leaders for their excellent coaching and refereeing!
WE HAD COME THIRD!
Our children showed us once again how they worked together as a team, co-operatively, communicated well with each other and how confident they were to show everyone the skills they had learnt in PE. Mrs Price and Miss Nottley were so proud of them once again!! Huge thanks to Mrs Moore and Mr and Mrs Horsington for coming to support our children.

Basketball Friendly at Winterbourne Valley
Mon 23 Nov 2015Today we travelled to Winterbourne Valley to play a friendly Basketball game to ready us for the festival this Wednesday, we had a great time using our skills we had learnt in lessons and also brushing up on the rules. Mr Treble taught us several things that we can try and put into our game on Wednesday! A fabulous time was had by all.
A positive, purposeful and enthusiastic atmosphere
