Trendle Class has transformed into the Antarctic this week as part of their capture on Polar Regions and Explorers.  On Tuesday our capture is a Polar Fun Day Experience – we have an explorer Ben Collins coming into school to share polar experiences with the children including Blubber Gloves, kit and equipment experiences. 

We are asking for a contribution of £5 per child towards this sensational experience – please see form below.

This is an important part of our week when the children take part in fun activities and parents and members of the community help us.

We are looking to revamp it and would like to take this as an opportunity to ask if you could give up 45 minutes every Friday or every other Friday or maybe even once a month to contribute to a fun activity.  Ideas could include art activities, sports activities or gardening.

Miss Cook organises this time and she would like to have your name and what time you are able to give her to enable her to continue with the smooth running of this afternoon.  Please could you speak directly to her if you can come and help (even if you already help please can you speak to Miss Cook to re confirm how often you can commit)

To celebrate our ‘Love of Books’ week – we have  invited our spectacular storyteller Chris Connaughton, to come into school on Wednesday 7^th January to inspire us all.  We will be asking children to dress up in their favourite book character during that week.

We took part in BBC Solent’s Schools Christmas carols and songs recording. We are one of 12 schools across the South who have taken part. BBC Solent starts playing carols and songs from Sunday morning and continue up to and including Christmas day morning. Please see below the 30 minute timeslot dates when are recordings are due to air.

Wednesday 17th 0730 – 0800, 1330 - 1400

Thursday 18th 0600 - 0630

We are planning our annual Christmas meal on Thursday 11^th December for all the children and staff at the Village Hall.  We have organised for Sunninghill/Athelhampton House to provide meals for all the children.  The meals for all children from Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will be provided free of charge.  We are hoping that all other children will have a Traditional Christmas meal but we will have to charge £2.30 per child to cover costs.
