Year 4 had their first Forest School session today! They all enjoyed the session and feedback at the end was all very positive! In today's session we discussed suitable clothing for the forest, played a game around the fire circle to help us prepare for being safe around the fire, had hot chocolate around the fire circle, found leaves around the Forest School site and began to learn how to identify them as well as making rubbings of them with foil! It was a very busy session and felt like it went very quickly! We made a group agreement of how we all want to behave and be treated in the Forest School environment, identifying some risks and deciding how we can manage these risks. The Year 4s were brilliant at this and were very excited to agree to this group agreement as they got to sign it with a muddy fingerprint! It was a wonderful first session and we are all looking forward to our next session on Tuesday afternoon. Another huge thank you to FOCUS for raising the funds to enable us to do it!
A positive, purposeful and enthusiastic atmosphere
