Re-chalking the Cerne Giant

 

The whole school, including Ducklings took part in this event last Friday, despite the inclement weather conditions (rain, wind, cold.) The National Trust had saved the eyes for us to complete and the children were able to take part in the whole process – digging out the old chalk, carrying it up the hill, cleaning the area, putting in new chalk and tamping it down.

 

We had a great morning on Giant Hill and a very windy picnic lunch. Thanks go to the National Trust for the lovely cake and drinks they provided – cups of tea and coffee were very much appreciated by the adults. Thank you to all the parents that joined us, your help was invaluable especially in negotiating the slopes up and down the hill.
