St. Mary's Charminter Football Tournament
Everyone arrived at St. Mary’s Charminster First School for their annual Football Tournament where we were split into two groups where we each play the other teams, with the top two teams progressing to the semi-finals. We played some great football against Winterbourne Abbas, Damers “A”, Manor Park “A” and St Mary’s Charminster “B” scoring 12 goals between Toby, George and Rhys to top our group without losing a single game. We showed great team work, some wonderful defensive and goalkeeping displays along with some jinking solo runs. This guaranteed us top spot and a semi-final against Damers “B”. Again we showed how well we worked as a team and after a very tense opening 3 minutes we broke the deadlock with 2 quick goals and went on to win 3-1 comfortably. Our final match was against Damers “A” but unfortunately we ran out of steam in this game and couldn’t repeat what we had done in our group game against them and lost 3-1. When the final whistle went and through our own personal disappointment all our children went to shake hands with the winners and congratulated them. Once again all our team showed what a credit to our school they are and we were all very proud of them. We would like to thank all parents who took their children and supported us that evening, couldn’t do it without this!
A positive, purposeful and enthusiastic atmosphere
