  • Mayfair

    Fri 22 May 2015

Congratulations to everyone regarding the Mayfair on Saturday – an incredible £1772.78 was raised.

Massive thanks go to Katy Wall for organising this wonderful event (with help from Janine Ryan and many others).  Thank you to everyone who worked tirelessly through the day to make this such a successful fundraiser.  We so appreciate how hard everyone worked.

We will let you know in due course what the money will be spent on to enhance your children’s education.  Over the last year FOCAS have funded learning captures in all classes and provided new books for home reading for the children.

  • Maths Day

    Wed 20 May 2015

On Wednesday 20th May the whole school will be spending a day learning together across the classes about Maths.  You are invited to join us at 2.00 pm to enjoy some maths games that the children will have made during the day.  We look forward to seeing you then.

  • Send My Friend to School

    Mon 18 May 2015

We are supporting the Send My Friend to School campaign. 2015 is a significant year because world leaders said that all children would be in school by this year but still 58 million are not. In September the leaders of the world are meeting together and they will discuss this issue. We have all written letters to David Cameron and suggested things that we would do to help get all children to school. In June Daniel and Honor will go to London's houses of Parliament to give them our letters with the other DASP schools.

Today we received the DASP box from Piddlevalley First school which contains all of the letters to David Cameron and the MP's and added ours. Tomorrow we will take the box to  Charminster First school.

We also sang Be Bold Be strong as part of the ceremony. Go to your child's Class page to listen to song.

  • MayFair 2015

    Sat 16 May 2015

WE DESPERATELY NEED HELPERS FOR THE MAYFAIR WHICH IS OUR MAJOR SCHOOL FUNDRAISER.  We rely on the FOCAS funds to enhance your children’s learning in school and to this end we rely heavily on the generosity of parents and the community to help make this a very successful fundraiser.  So we are asking for your support in contributing goodies for the stalls, selling raffle tickets and donating prizes in exchange for a Crazy Hair day  and ‘Dress as your Hero’  or ‘Dress Down’ day for the tombola stalls.

Our grateful thanks go to Katy Wall and Janine Ryan for organising the whole event .

To reduce production costs Rachel  Guest  has designed personal raffle tickets at £1 each – These will be sent out next week we would be grateful if you could sell as many as  possible.

We desperately need parents to help run the stalls, and parents to organise the teas and cakes.

We are having the following stalls

    Bric a Brac

    Adult tombola

    Chocolate tombola

    Toy stall

    Plants

    Books / CD’s etc

    Raffle

    Cakes and or savouries

School uniform seconds / as new

    Hair braiding

    Etc etc

Please do bring in any donations for these stalls and ask neighbours etc.

Please can we ask for helpers

    • to help collect and set up tables and chairs from the vicarage,
    • to help erect the gazebos – easy assemble ones this year
    • to run stalls.

Please pop in and see Alex if you are happy to help

We are having a ‘Dress as your Hero’ day on Friday 1st May in exchange for Adult tombola - bottles, jars, tins, smellies, candles etc, and then a  WACKY HAIR DAY  on Friday  8th  May in exchange for chocolate for the chocolate tombola.

We would also be very grateful if every child could fill a jar or two or three! for the school Jar Stall.  You can fill them with anything you like from candles, soaps, marbles, sweets and decorate them with ribbons etc.
