  • Running Miles for Mosaic

    Mon 29 Apr 2024

Last week we joined 23 other schools in Dorset to see how many miles we could run for the charity Mosaic. This is s charity that supports bereaved young people and their families. We launched the week with a virtual gathering which included all of the schools involved. We all said a big hello and cheer to one another. We them spent any spare time running. We ran a total of nearly 10 marathons and raised over £250 for the charity. What a great way to support such a deserving charity that helped us to keep fit at the same time. Well done to everyone involved.

  • Author, Actor and Playwright Chris Connaughton

    Thu 25 Apr 2024

We were very lucky to have Chris Connaughton visit us again yesterday. As well as telling stories he was showing and teaching the children how to tell their own stories. We are concentrating on oracy as a school and this day helped the children understand not only how to make up their own stories but to retell them clearly and with expression. Children need to be be articulate and this will in turn improve their writing. It was a fun and very engaging day.

  • Artist Sasha Constable visits for the day.

    Thu 25 Apr 2024

This week local artist Sasha Constable visited our school as part of a bird project that we are doing. We have been learning about swallows, swifts and housemartins and there migration patterns. We have put bird boxes up around the school and hope that we may be able to see some of these bird make nests in school. The children enjoyed making bird mobiles with Sasha using cardboard and string.

A positive, purposeful and enthusiastic atmosphere
