  • Go Ape

    Thu 12 Jul 2018

Every one was so excited as they arrived at School today in anticipation of our whole school trip to Moor's Valley Go Ape. We set off all together in our double decker bus and arrived just in time for our first set of adventurers to head off to Go Ape. Everyone was Confident, Communicative and Courteous as they made their way around the course and some even braved the zip wires. We also had a chance to go in the park and walked along the play trail as well so it truly was a fun filled day. A lot of fears were conquered today from children AND staff and we were all so very proud of each and every one, this was a fantastic day and we have heard lots of great stories from their children of their day.

We would like to thank all the parents and helpers for all they did on this trip, we couldn't have done it without you!

  • Year 2 Forest School

Wed 04 Jul 2018 Mrs Cain

Year 2 were fantastic at forest school this Monday! The theme for our three sessions is 'Marvellous Minibeasts!' The children went exploring for bugs in our forest site and used magnifying glasses to look closely at the creatures they found. The children were delighted to find lots of woodlice with tiny babies! Some children chose to draw pictures of the bugs they found, others chose to make new homes for the mini beasts. We also played a bug game as a group to remember how to be safe around the fire circle. It was a fun first session where we all learnt lots, including Mrs Cain!

  • DASP Send My Friend to School Campaign 2018

Sun 24 Jun 2018 Mrs Cain

On Friday, Molly, William and I headed off to London on a coach of school councilors and staff from DASP to go to the Houses of Parliament to meet with Oliver Letwin, our local MP. We wanted him to know how passionate we are that ALL children around the world deserve a safe education and we want him to share this message with his colleagues in parliament. We hope that then our country will support others to ensure that children can have a safe education all around the world. Molly asked Oliver Letwin what he thinks we should be doing to help Syrian refugees to have a safe education. She told him what she would do and they were very similar in their thoughts! William and Molly got to enjoy a tour of the Houses of Parliament during their visit. They even got to go into the House of Lords and the House of Commons! It was a very long day of travelling but I think they would agree it was totally worth it! Mrs Cain was very proud of both of them for supporting this very special campaign and being all of our 7 Cs throughout the whole day - which was 13 hours long!

  • Year 4 Forest School

Tue 19 Jun 2018 Mrs Cain

    Year 4 Forest School

We had a great session in the forest together learning all about how Anglo-Saxons lived. The children chose a variety of activities to help them learn what life would have been like as an Anglo-Saxon. They went hunting for food, they made crafts from wool, they learnt to juggle, built fences from wood and they explored the forest and found some fabulous creatures! It was a great session, we hope to have some more by the end of the year - fingers crossed!

  • Year 3 Forest School

Tue 19 Jun 2018 Mrs Cain

    Year 3 Forest School

We had a fabulous forest school session today where we all worked as a team to create our first forest school fire! Our theme for our sessions is the Anglo-Saxons so we wanted to cook something on the fire that was authentic. The children made bread dough with Mrs Tippett and whittled some sticks with Mrs Cain to cook their bread on! A great time was had by everyone. Thank you so much Mrs Tippett for helping us today!
