Celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee! 27.5.22

We have had a fantastic day celebrating the upcoming Jubilee in school today. It was brilliant to see everyone in their 'red, white and blue' union jack colours! (Thank you for all your efforts with organising outfits).
We gathered as a school first thing to talk about Queen Elizabeth II and the special Jubilee celebration and her 70 years on the throne. We talked about how the Queen's Gold, Silver and Diamond Jubilee's had been celebrated by members of staff at different points of their life and looked at some photographs and commemorative mugs that had been collected over the years. The children were fascinated to see some of their teachers as children like them!
Back in classrooms we then created our own royal crowns and designed a personal family 'crest' or emblem to be added to a whole school tea towel organised by FOCAS to commemorate this years Platinum Jubilee.
We then gathered as a school again for a playground 'street party' for lunch! We decorated the playground with flags and balloons and the children had a special lunchtime with music and fun.
We finished our day with a parade around the village wearing our royal crowns!
What a lovely end to another busy term! We hope you all have a restful half term and can enjoy being outdoors in the lovely sunshine.

A positive, purposeful and enthusiastic atmosphere
