Confident Caterpillars! 31.01.14

Giant Class have been particularly confident this week. In Maths this week we have been learning how to 'take-away' and how to recognise and order numbers. Giant Class have been very confident and have tried very hard to take away and to order their numbers. We have linked all of our learning in Maths to our topic which the children have enjoyed particularly when this learning has involved penguins! They are a particular favourite! In Phonics this week we have been practising our reading and writing skills as well as learning two new sounds - oi and ow.

Giant Class have been making lovely 'under the sea' pictures using a variety of textures this week. Do make sure you look at the wonderful pictures and paintings hung up in our classroom at the moment.

Miss Cook was away for two days this week doing her First Aid Training and was very pleased to hear that Giant Class had been very confident and courteous learners with Mrs Popkin who thoroughly enjoyed learning with Giant Class. Well done Giant Class!

This week we have had a wonderful Welly Walk where we all practised our writing by writing in the mud with sticks. We wrote our names and then our other favourite letters. This was going very well until a few of us got stuck in the mud! Giant Class all helped each other get out of the mud and used their imaginations by pretending they were the emergency services! They were very co-operative. The children have been really enjoying their Welly Walks.
