Pirate Day! 23.02.16

Pirate Day!

We have had a fantastic start to our topic today! Giant Class all came into school dressed as brilliant pirates and we have had lots of fun! We started with pirate phonics, followed by learning the song 'When I was one...' We then had lots of fun learning with different pirate activities, including making parrots, paintings with boat handprints, making treasure maps using paper we made using soggy teabags and lots more!

We played a fun pirate game in Maths called 'The Golden Sea!' Giant Class has 3D pirate treasure and could only cross the Golden Sea if they had the shape the pirate captains wanted!

We enjoyed a wonderful 'Pirate Picnic' for lunch which the children loved as they had to eat lots of funny pirate food including 'Salty Bones', 'Seaweed Wraps',  'Golden Nuggets' and 'Shark Infested Dip.'

The children enjoyed lots of Pirate choosing in the afternoon, including learning in the pirate ship which Mrs Barrett and Mrs Vine have been busy making! It is fantastic - do come and have a look!

Giant Class are definitely 'captured' into the topic and love our book which will be the focus of our learning this half term.
