Music Fun with Mrs Joy! 12.11.19

Music Fun with Mrs Joy

On Tuesday afternoon we had a fantastic music session with Mrs Joy. The children learnt a few fun firework songs which we will continue to practise this week before our session with her again next week. The children also had fun playing some of Mrs Joy's special musical instruments.

At the end of the day we had some very special visitors - Mrs Nottley's new puppies! The children loved meeting them! Thank you Mrs Nottley for sharing them with us - they brought so much happiness! We look forward to seeing Poppy and Lily grow!

In English this week we have been learning about exclamation marks and have been writing words and sentences about the Owl Babies story, using exclamation marks! We have also been using adjectives to describe our own owl babies we have created ourselves.

In Maths this week we have been learning how to write numbers as words. The Year Ones have been writing numbers 1-20 and the Year Twos have been writing numbers 1-100! Perhaps you could practise these at home as well? We have been writing them in lots of fun ways using different medias. We have also started learning about addition and partitioning numbers using part, part, whole frames.

Don't forget that the children can now bring in a book to talk about for show and tell - they can give a book review to the class by talking about a book they love. This will not only help them share a love of stories and reading but also improve their speaking and listening skills.
