Wild Weather Forest School. 16.01.2014

We started the week with our capture day for our topic ‘Wild Weather.’
The children spent half of the day in Forest school with Maddy making weather station equipment, this included lots of problem solving, and the children were very communicative and co-operative with each other.
We will use the equipment throughout the half term to collect information about the weather in Cerne Abbas and then interpret the data we collect in a graph.
The other part of the day, the children became weather forecasters. They discussed what weather was, and how weather is predicted, they also decided what they would need to find out in order to present to others what the weather was going to be like. Children then researched the weather forecast for Cerne Abbas and the rest of the UK over the next few days, made a PowerPoint using weather symbols, wrote a script and then presented the weather whilst others filmed. Please watch their videos, which I have uploaded to the school website. They were such confident learners.

A positive, purposeful and enthusiastic atmosphere
