Week 9 - Trees for Dorset & Sports festivals

Week 9 Blog.

Welcome to another edition of Abbey Class's blog!

As I write this Abbey Class were very successful in their Tag Rugby expedition with Miss Nottley and Mrs Price telling me all of the children were a credit to the school and enjoyed themselves. Fingers crossed for tomorrow's netball!

The year 3's participated in Trees for Dorset on Monday and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and came back with more knowledge than they started with.

Furthermore, the cast has been decided for the nativity performance. How exciting :) The children know what part they are and we will be starting rehearsals shortly. More information on this will come in the next few weeks.

We have been learning more about fractions in Maths as well as covering the Wind and the Willows in English. Any extra learning you want to partake in these two areas would be beneficial. For example, watching the Wind and the Willows film and completing online maths games!

Roman Day is next Wednesday. There are going to be a whole host of different Roman themed activities on the day which I hope the children are looking forward to. This is just a gentle reminder that the children are invited to come into school in roman attire on that day. I would love to see a whole range of costumes and different roman characters. Do not spend a fortune on a costume. Come to me if you are stuck for ideas.

Many thanks and have a super weekend. Let me know what you do.

Mr Mitchem :)
