Celebrations!

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who made my birthday celebration so memorable. Many thanks for all your kind words, cards and gifts. It was a wonderful day!

Abbey Class has been celebrating Aboriginal Culture with our exciting Arts Day on Thursday. Des Alner, a fantastic art teacher from Shafesbury, came to the school to lead our learning with four different activities:

painting our own Aboriginal journeys, pebble painting, willow weaving and creative pottery with terracotta clay.

We also learn more about Australian Aborigines: their dances, their music and their weapons. Most children tried to play a didgeridoo and some even made the appropriate sound!
