Storytelling Fun! 13.04.16

Today we were very lucky to have a visit from Chris Connaughton, a storyteller. Chris has an amazing talent for storytelling and we were very lucky to have him tell us several stories throughout the day. The main story he told us was the story of ‘The Little Red Hen.’ Giant Class loved joining in with Chris doing some actions and joining in with some repeated phrases. Chris set us some learning to do once he had left so that we could show him again later; he asked us to draw our favourite character from the story and to describe the character. Some of Giant class also wrote new stories about their characters. There was lots of amazing writing going on! We also decided to draw our favourite characters in our Computing learning in the afternoon, do have a look above the computers in our classroom as they were also brilliant!

Giant class have been excited about our new topic and have enjoyed making 2D and 3D shaped sweets for our role play corner in Maths this week as well as designing their own sweetie houses like the one Hansel and Gretel found in the woods and writing wonderful sentences about their houses.

In Phonics we have been reading and writing lots of challenging words and sentences. It has been a super busy but fun week in Giant Class!
