Planting and Painting 10.05.13

This week Trendle Class have started their own planting and growing projects. We have sown some carrot and salad leaf seeds in one of the growing plots, and have also dug in some seed potatoes. Let’s hope for some more sunshine so that we can harvest them later this term.

In the classroom we have sown cress seeds ready for our ‘What Plants Need’ investigation next week. This will link with our learning on plant life cycles so that we can follow the different stages on the life cycle wheels that we made in DT.

Our learning in Art has continued the theme of Gardens, with the children focusing on Claude Monet’s inspirational garden at Giverny. We considered the different effects and techniques that Monet used, and the children thoroughly enjoyed ‘getting creative’ under the direction of Mrs Quinn. We hope to display the pictures in our classroom gallery in the near future.

A positive, purposeful and enthusiastic atmosphere
