The Dinosaur Museum

We had a wonderful trip this morning to the dinosaur museum. The children were so excited heading off in the minibus and they got more and more excited throughout the morning! We first got to hold a fossilized bone from an Iguanodon, then we went around the museum exploring all the pictures, facts and fossils. Giant Class were so enthusiastic and keen to learn - it was wonderful to see. We found out lots of great facts and the children asked some great questions. The children particularly enjoyed the 'cinema experience' where they got to watch a video about dinosaurs, although this was aimed higher than their age group, they loved watching it and asked loads of questions as well as sharing facts they knew about dinosaurs. On the top floor there is an explorative area where they enjoyed finding out more facts and got to climb on a Triceratops! We enjoyed a yummy snack of raisins outside, accompanied by two ginormous dinosaurs; a Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus Rex! We then had lots more time to go and have a look at some more interesting dinosaur facts and artefacts as well as visiting the shop! We had a really wonderful trip and the children are now very excited and motivated to learn. We look forward to seeing this support their learning in school.
