Love of Reading Week

This week we have been enjoying a wonderful week of learning about books and our love of reading. On Monday we enjoyed our visit from a ‘Sorcerer’, we needed to help him find out the end of his story. Giant Class thought of some super ideas and they wrote their wonderful ideas down for the Sorcerer.

On Tuesday we enjoyed dressing up as our favourite book characters. We shared our favourite stories with our friends from Abbey Class and Trendle Class which was great fun! We did a ‘Hot Seating’ activity where we pretended to be our characters. Giant Class were very good at pretending and asked some great questions as well as answering questions in role.

On Wednesday we had a fantastic experience watching and listening to storyteller, Chris Connaughton. He brings stories to life and made all of the children excited and animated about the stories he told and this lead to some wonderful ideas and writing. We also painted pictures of the characters from the story The Gingerbread Man.

What a very busy week we have had so far!
