Week 1 - Athletics, D Day and Elderflower

Week 1's learning in Abbey Class

Here is a breakdown of Abbey class' learning this week

- The Year 3's took part in an Athletics festival at DMS school. They all did brilliantly 

- They started their topic, 'Rivers and Celts', by looking at how to identify different OS symbols

- The children learnt about D day with Mrs Ferguson in French

- Maths learning involved learning about graphs for the Year 4's and time for the Year 3's

- Our focus text in English is 'The Twits' where we are going to build up to writing our play script

- Mental maths daily e.g. true/false statements, lots of counting, times tables practise

- Learning about the significance of water in relation to the River Ganges - Hindusism in RE
