Marvellous Music! 18.09.14

 This week in Giant Class we have been continuing to learn about ourselves. We have been drawing pictures of our families and making pictures of our houses. We have been very busy in choosing time; learning where everything is and learning to play nicely with our friends. We have had a particular focus on being caring and confident caterpillars. We will be learning the other caterpillar values over the next few weeks.

We had a very exciting visitor on Thursday, a lady from DASP Music Services. She has given us some Bamboo Tamboos to look after until she next visits which we be next Thursday. She taught the children how to use the Bamboo Tamboos – a new and exciting instrument. The children sang songs and played their instruments showing great rhythm!

The children had their first Thursday afternoon with Mrs Edwards today. They had great fun with the music session followed by using the bikes and trikes outside on the playground. The children were very confident with Mrs Edwards and will be looked after by her and Mrs Herbert every Thursday when Miss Cook is busy planning!

I am looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible for our ‘Welcome to Reception’ meeting on Monday afterschool.
