Releasing our butterflies! 26.6.23

This afternoon we said our goodbyes to our beautiful butterflies (who had all emerged from their chrysalides over the weekend). When we arrived this morning they were fluttering around in their net, ready to make their big escape! We made sure they had some fresh juicy fruit and flowers and waited until it was dry to let them all free. When the net was opened they each flew out and up, up, away as we waved them 'goodbye'!
It has been very special learning all about the life cycle of the butterfly and watching them grow and change from caterpillars and watching them turn into beautiful butterflies. Hopefully this will give the children an appreciation of nature that will last them their lifetime!
