Traditional Tales 20.11.14

Traditional Tales

We have been enjoying our Traditional Tales topic in Giant Class. For the last two weeks we have been focussing our learning on the story of Goldilocks and The Three Bears. We have been enjoying learning in our ‘Three Bears Cottage’ and have been busy building our own houses for The Three Bears and have been writing letters to The Three Bears from Goldilocks to say sorry for breaking the bears chair, eating their porridge and sleeping in their beds.

This week we have started learning about the story of The Three Little Pigs. The children have especially enjoyed making homes for The Three Little Pigs out of real straw, sticks and bricks. They have been very creative and have made some wonderful homes for the pretend pigs. We have read another wonderful story which they loved which was called ‘The Three Little Wolves and The Big Bad Pig’.

In Maths this week we have been learning a different number each day and have been counting to that special number. We have been learning numbers 11,12,13,14.

In phonics this week we have been learning lots of new sounds and have been reading and writing with these new sounds. Our sounds we have learnt this week are w,v,j and x.

A positive, purposeful and enthusiastic atmosphere
