Fossil talk 10.9.15

This week we have started looking at our topic ‘the coast.’ We  were not all sure what a coast was so we discussed and talked about geographical features of the coast sorting them into human and physical geography.

In preparation for our trip to Charmouth on Monday Mr Christian came in with a very small part of his fossil collection to show us what we might be able to find on Charmouth beach which got us all really excited. A lot wanted to know how fossils were made, so with the help of Mr Christian we all discovered this and started designing a comic strip to explain.

In English we have been reminding ourselves of different words that make up our sentences, focusing on nouns, adjectives and verbs. We have also been making our WoW word display, finding better synonyms for uninteresting words such as big, went and said. We are hoping that our display will help us with our writing in the future!
