Out and about 26.4.13

Year 4 had great fun orienteering at Dorchester Middle School on Monday. Please look at the report in 'Latest News' all about it!
On Wednesday, Mrs Ray from DMS, came to share our PE lesson with us. It was really good to see her again and the children loved meeting her.

Thursday was a lovely day, with a country walk to look at the local plants and trees. Last year we called this our ‘Bluebell Walk’, but there were only a few bluebells in flower because of the cold weather. However, we found lots of interesting plants and features to learn about. In the afternoon we considered our findings by identifying plants, recalling evidence of animals and learning about the ‘Circle of Life’ with creating food chains.
We would like to thank Mr Fergusson, Mr Ayles, Mrs Lagden and Mrs Quinn for helping us. Many thanks and fond fare-wells on her retirement, to Mrs Mary Ann Featherstone from ‘Trees for Dorset’, for all the years she has been teaching the children of Cerne Abbas First School about trees and Nature in general. We wish her great happiness in the Isle of Skye.

A positive, purposeful and enthusiastic atmosphere
