Week 2 - Escape from Pompeii, School Photos and World Book Day!

Week 2 at Cerne Abbas First School, the big class!

Here is the breakdown of Abbey Class' learning for Spring 2, Week 2!

-The highlight was World Book Day on Thursday. The children dressed up as the favourite book character and were engaged with lots of reading activities throughout the day, such as DROP and READ, guessing what adult was reading competition, guessing what book shelf belonged to what adult competition, listening to Miss Stephen's favourite book, parading their outfits and specifically in my class, listening to 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'

-Carried on our learning with measurement! The children have shown us to be super courteous learners!

-Created a poster all about the Romans in our topic lesson

-Focussed on the text, 'Escape from Pompeii', reading the text, looking at the descriptions in the text and writing about what we could infer and also writing a description based on Mount Vesuvius erupting!

- Daily Mile...Daily!

-Teachers read the favourite books throughout the week

- Mrs Constable came in to discuss future learning she will be doing in school regarding the village auction coming up later on in the year

-Practised for the DASP concert coming up very soon on Monday 18th March at THS!
