salsa and samba 12.06.14

After year 3 and 4 going off on their own adventures last week it was lovely to spend the week as a whole class and share and celebrate our learning and experiences with each other.

On Monday we were confident and courteous learners, spending the day at St Osmunds school with other DASP schools, where we completed a number of singing workshops. We practised our world cup anthem songs and then performed them in the afternoon to an audience of parents.
On Tuesday, we were again confident and courteous in our learning as we had our Salsa wrokshop. It was completely new learning for some of us, but we all had a go and kept on practising. We learnt a whole dance and then performed it to parents that could come. It was great fun and I think we all learnt a lot about dancing and rhythm.
Tomorrow we have a samba drumming workshop to look forward to as part of our carnival capture. We hope to make lots of noise and those of you who live in Cerne Abbas, listen out for our wonderful beats and rhythms!!
We hope to use what we have learnt at the end of term when we invite you to our own carnival.

A positive, purposeful and enthusiastic atmosphere
