Rockin' Rocks 22.9.15

This week we have been investigating the different rocks, deciding which would be best to build a house with. For a house we decided (with Mr Christian’s help ) it needed to be stable, strong/hard, waterproof and easy to split so we can easily work with it and build with it.

We started by learning how rocks are made and the three different types of rocks, we then had a collections of rocks to discuss and decide which we thought were which and which would be best for building a house. We set about testing the rocks for the different properties we wanted. Some of the tests were a bit dangerous so we had to be courteous and think about health and safety. As you can see we had a brilliant time and we are going to discuss our findings next week to decide which rock is best...so make sure you read our blog next week to find out!!
