A Wonderful Last Week of Term! 4.4.14

Fair-trade
We have had wonderful week learning about fair-trade. We have made a fair-trade shop and have been enjoying learning about money through our play. This week has also been 'Money Matters Week'. The children created their shop themselves by labelling all the food with fair-trade stickers and prices, they made signs for the shop such as ‘open’, ‘closed’ and ‘no dogs allowed!’ Some of the boys made ‘Mint Chocolate’ which they told me was fair-trade outside with the mud and they also played with the farm set pretending to be fair-trade farmers! During our Maths lessons we have been learning how to buy our fair-trade food and how to add by buying two items.
Easter Rice Krispie Cakes
On Wednesday we made Easter Rice Krispie Cakes for our fair-trade cake sale. The children loved making them and got involved throughout the process! They were very good – no eggs went missing during the making process…! After we had made our cakes we wrote out the recipe for them. Giant Class were very confident writers and wrote beautifully.
Spring Assembly
Wow! Miss Cook was very proud of all of Giant Class for their fantastic performance of ‘6 Hot Cross Buns’. They sang clearly and beautifully. Not only did they sing their class song well but they were so confident at singing the whole school songs – they were some of the loudest and most confident singers! Well done Giants!
Today we said good bye to Miss Mainstone who has been helping us to learn every Thursday and Friday. The children made her a lovely card and wished her well in her next school.

To finish off the term we enjoyed a very exciting Easter Egg hunt this morning which was great fun!

The children have tried so hard this term, I would like to wish all children and their families a restful and enjoyable Easter Holiday and look forward to seeing you all again after Easter!

Happy Easter!

Miss Cook
