Everyday Superheroes 'Thank you Cerne Abbas Surgery'

This week we have been thinking about everyday superheroes; the people who work hard to help us and keep us safe.

We thought particularly about the Doctors Surgery in our village and how lucky we are that we can see a Doctor or Nurse whenever we are feeling poorly. We know that all the staff at the Cerne Abbas Surgery have been working extremely hard during this difficult time, doing their best to keep everyone safe from Coronavirus and also making sure people receive their vaccinations to be protected against the virus.

So this week we have been busy making a special rainbow picture to take down to the Doctor's Surgery so we could say thank you and show them how much their efforts have been appreciated. Along with our rainbow, we gave them a letter written by William D saying "To everyone at Cerne Abbas Surgery, thank you for looking after everyone in our village. Love from everyone at Cerne Abbas First School xxx"

On Friday at the end of our welly walk we visited the Doctor's Surgery in Cerne Abbas and presented our rainbow picture. We were greeted by both a Doctor and Nurse from the surgery who were so pleased to see us and extremely grateful for our artwork and letter! (They also loved our crazy hair!!) They said that when patients are allowed back inside the Surgery we will be able to see our lovely artwork displayed in the waiting room!

As we left they all gave us a clap (and elbow pump!) too and wanted us to know how brave we've been during such a difficult time.

Well done, Giants & Ducklings!

A positive, purposeful and enthusiastic atmosphere
