Nativity and Christmas! 20.12.19

Nativity and Christmas! 20.12.19

We have had a busy and festive week in Giant & Duckling class, preparing for the end of term and getting very excited about the Christmas holidays! We have been making Christmas cards, Christmas tree decorations, tasty mince pies and New Year calendars!

On Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday evening, the children took part in our school Nativity Performance ‘Hey Ewe’ at St Mary’s Church. The children sang and danced, joining the rest of the school with choral verses and performing their very own piece singing ‘Twinkle twinkle little star’. They performed brilliantly! Everyone showed lots of confidence standing up in front of an audience, with big smiles and super singing voices. Well done everyone! You made us feel very proud!

In school this week we have been busy making and receiving Christmas cards! Last week the reception children wrote and posted Christmas cards to children in the reception classes at Prince of Wales School in Dorchester and Cheselbourne First School. This week our Giant’s received Christmas cards in reply! They will be sending more letters in the new year and meeting their ‘buddies’ from these schools later in the summer term!

We also had another special delivery in the post this week! Our letters must have been delivered successfully to the North Pole because we each had a special reply from Father Christmas! We were very excited to open our letters. It was very funny hearing about Santa’s mischievous elves who have been busy taking lots of sELFies!!

We have had a fantastic Christmas party day today, wearing our party clothes and walking down to the village hall for a super Christmas lunch and party! This morning we even met Father Christmas!! He had brought a huge sack brimming with presents!! We each had our own special early Christmas present to take home.

What a fantastic way to end a busy term at school. We hope you all have a super holiday (and can find some time to rest amongst all the festivities!)

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas! We look forward to seeing you all again in the New Year!
