End of Year Party! 19.7.19

I can’t believe this has been our last full week of the term! How this year has flown!! Thank you to all of the parents who attended our end of year party on Tuesday! It was so lovely to see so many of you there. The children were excellent waiters and waitresses and very excited to share their party with you all. They had spent a lot of time making preparations, ensuring the afternoon was filled with tasty treats! It was a lovely afternoon celebrating all the learning this year; we hope you all enjoyed it!

The children have certainly had a busy final week! It all started Monday with our Sponsored walk on Weymouth beach! The children did amazingly well, walking a grand total of 5.2 miles from the Pavilion car park to the Oasis café and back again! The children walked with high spirits, enjoying mixing across the school within colour teams. We had our packed lunches sitting on the pebbles looking out to sea! It was a brilliant day raising lots of funds for the next academic year. Well done everyone!

We had another special day on Wednesday, coming together as a school for our ‘Reflective Day’. We explored the Bible story ‘Jesus walking on water’. Working again in mixed colour teams, we took part in different activities with all the teachers. We explored objects floating/sinking, thinking more deeply about the message of ‘trust’ in the story. We also drew around our own feet and created footprints, writing about when we have had to be brave and who in our lives helps us to feel courageous. We thought about how the story made us feel and what we can learn from it. 

For Giant class parents we have now begun the process of exporting your child’s Tapestry Learning Journal. You should receive an email this week explaining the process of how to download it, which you can then save to your computer (PDF document) and print it if you wish.  If you haven’t received an email by the end of the week then please let me know. You need to download the document as soon as possible as it will be deleted from our system in 3 weeks. I have included a tutorial explaining how to download your Tapestry Learning Journal on the pages below.
