Maths Week 6.7.20

Maths Week

We have had a marvellous Maths Week in Trendle Class! The theme this year was to link Maths with other subjects.

On Monday we linked our Maths learning with our visit from Pantasaurus! We read the story Aliens Love Underpants and from that designed our own pair of pants using shapes. In the afternoon we linked our Maths learning with Art and Design, we made shapes pictures, designed our own shape aliens and created collages with shapes. It was a very creative afternoon!

On Tuesday we linked our Maths learning to Science by learning about tally chart for recording information. We created our own tally charts in pairs and then went on a walk around the village to link our learning to Geography as well! We found lots of signs of Maths in our village - lots of shapes, numbers and we found one or two Maths symbols too! In the afternoon we wrote about our tally charts and our trip around the village to link our learning to English.

On Wednesday morning we wrote about our shape aliens we created on Monday and tried some Great Fire of London Maths challenges.

We look forward to seeing you at our Learning Exposure on Monday at 2.45 to show you our learning from our topic this half term as well as our learning from Maths Week.

Apologies for no spellings last week!

This week they are...

Year Ones - are, they, was, you, your

Year Twos - door, floor, poor, last, past

Have fun learning them!

Enjoy your weekend!

Mrs Cain

A positive, purposeful and enthusiastic atmosphere
