Learning Exposure, Maths Day and Mathletics Fun! 21.05.15

Learning Exposure, Maths Day and Mathletics Fun!

Wow! What a busy week we have had! Thank you to all the parents who have been in to see our learning this week, Giant Class loved showing their learning journeys on Tuesday and were very proud playing their Maths games they had made on Wednesday.

Wednesday was our Maths Day where we started the day in mixed age groups and played a variety of Maths games, then we set the children the challenge of creating their own game! Giant Class were all of the caterpillar values and showed confidence and co-operation particularly well. They all made a game to play with their parents, grandparents or teachers in the afternoon.

On Tuesday morning we all went on the laptops and went on 'Mathletics'. The children who had not been on before loved creating their own character on the site and loved playing the maths games on the website. This is the site where you can do home learning with your child with the log-ins I sent out at the start of this half term. If children go on there they can get certificates which we hand out in Praise Worship, each Friday.

We have enjoyed the last week of our topic on Giles Andreae and have been enjoying his book 'Farmyard Hullabaloo' this week. We look forward to our new topic 'Mad About Minibeasts' next half term.

I hope you all have a lovely half term holiday!

Miss Cook
